Sharia also known as Shariah (Sharee’ah;Shari’ah) Islamic Law

Sharia Islamic Law (Shariah; Sharee’ah;Shari’ah)

Sharia, Shariah, Sharee’ah, Shari’ah are all basically terms that mean the same thing. The islamic law sent down by God for all of mankind is known as sacred law to some, but muslims in arabic call it the Sharia, Shariah, Sharee’ah, Shari’ah. The word Sharia, Shariah, Sharee’ah, Shari’ah in arabic means ‘the source’ or sometimes linguistically it was refered to a source of water or an oasis. The source of law in islam is therefore Sharia, Shariah, Sharee’ah, Shari’ah.

There are many people in this world who dislike things that they see around them. Many fear that which they know not. As a matter of fact after the sad and tragic events that occurred on september 11 in the united states of america, many people were driven towards hating muslims and islamic law. Memories of the witch hunts that occurred at salem began to be conjured up once again. As a matter of fact some of this negative media publicity actually caused people to become curious and to go and read the quran themselves and see what the sharia was all about. In the end many people become muslims and reverted back to Islam.

The sharia basically is being demonized in the world today and this is greatly due to ignorance and what the media has done to taint the image of muslims all around.

Islamic Law

God sent down many messengers over time to remind people of the true and straight path and to guide mankind. Prophets such as Abraham, Moses, Noah, Jesus and Muhammed peace and blessings of God be upon them. The purpose of messengers was to warn us and to show us the truth and to bring to us revelation from God. God also revealed laws that man should abide by and follow. Everything from marital and sexual relationships to ruling and trade were discussed. Islamic law is comprehensive and complete and covers all aspects of man’s life.

Women in Sharia, Shariah, Sharee’ah, Shari’ah

Women in Islam are treated with dignity and respect and are not to be objects of sex in society. Women are considered equal in the sight of God, but are given slightly different and complementary roles to men. Women historically have contributed much to Islamic civilization and society.

My religion is my fellow human being, and I must admit that my relationships with people have made me a very faithful person. I have faith in people, not some contested God that everyone believes in, but can’t get right… Don’t you muslims, christians and jews believe in the same creator??? A prophet talks great wonders, so who really cares who says it!!! In the long run, it’s all the same thing: WE MUST LEARN TO GET ALONG, TO UNDERSTAND OUR DIFFERENCES, TO NOT HURT EACH OTHER, AND TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER’S GROWTH!!! Amazing, how we are like children in a playground. We don’t need the bully, thank you.

  2. A.L. Moffatt Says:

“You shall not do so unto the LORD your God: for every abomination to the LORD, which He hates, have they done unto their gods: for even their sons and their daughters they have killed for their god (suicide bombers). Whatsoever thing I command you, OBSERVE TO DO IT: you shall not add to it (the koran is adding to it as God has already given it by the time the koran was written), nor diminish from it (which you have done by turning from The Book written by the true God and embracing another god which is not God at all.

  3. Beauty Says:

Sharia is incompatible in today’s rapid technology world. Love is all there is and all education is important for example, united states of america is written as thus United States of America.

  4. Free Says:

If a law is to be laid with punishments they should be for the whole and not the few. It is hypocritical for a judge to issue a death sentance, as he is commiting murder himself. No one has the right to take anothers life, no matter who your god is or what some book says. Books are NOT the word of gods they are written by humans and humans lie for gain, no holy book has been presented by Gods or angels, they have not fallen from the sky and they are not the be all and end all of reality.

firstly fafi seems to be slightly mistaken… Judaism believes in a national revelation rather than one prophets dream… i.e. the entire nation heard G-d speak. Not only does Judaism believe this, but it is the only religon which claims this. So no, its not one prophet, one dream, one vision in this case.
‘Animists’ better known as ‘primal-indigenous’ (its a religion) make up over 300 million people and is mostly unheard of yet judaism makes up only 14 million people (0.2%of the worlds population) and is one of the three major religions..amazing isnt it.
Just to put this into perspective there are 1.3 billion muslims (over 21% of the worlds population) which safely puts them on the map. (http://www.adherents.com/Religions_By_Adherents.html#primal)
Secondly christianity claims to be one of the three major monotheistic religions yet it believes in three gods namely the son the father and the holy ghost. and for anyone out there that can help me, how can Jesus be the son of G-d and also from the lineage of King David thus giving him the title of messiah?
and thirdly both christianity and islam believe in the national revelation that occured at mount sinai (jewish belief in the transmission of the bible from G-d to the people)..hence the old testament yet they both state that a lone prophet received the new bible from G-d in a dream or a vision (and this belief isnt limited to the two major religons stated). This doesnt make sense, if G-d transmitted it the first time to an entire nation , wouldnt He have made the second transmission equal to or greater the second time round?…the foundations of these religions seems to be flawed some what, maybe some one could help me out and explain it to me?
Toleration, love and peace is the only way forward, afterall G-d created us all (and for those that dont believe in a G-d, were are all equal by definition; we all came about in the same way). stay safe. enjoy life, were all blessed with it.

You need to brush up on your knowledge of Christianity. Christians believe in one God, the Blessed Trinity, three devine persons totally distinct but equal in all things. St Patrick gave the example of the shamrock to try to explain it to the Irish in the year 432. The three leaves on one stem!

  10. Adnan Siddiqi Says:

Its great to see both christians and jews bashing each other ;)

@indian: idol worshipping is the silliest and pathetic practise on face of earth.

  11. the only one Says:

To those of you leaving insults on a website - like all racist and bigots I meet, I bet your all really sad individuals who can only make friends with other losers. Get a life.

  12. Daibhaid Says:

To Adnan and “the only one”…judge not all the whole by a few. I’m Anglican, we are taught within our faith to question certain things. However in one thing we remain constant. That is the belief that the Three are One. There are those who claim that some radical clerics would have the entire world converted to Islam, but in the United States the patent belief is embodied within the whole of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights which forbids the establishment of a state religion. I do not claim to understand the whole of Shariah Law, there are some things in which I am patently confused. Such as a recent trip to New York in which I boarded a taxi with American Express logos on the windows, however when I reached my destination my driver, a Muslim, refused with some heat to accept my card. It was only after a heated argument that he took it with not the best of grace. IMHO if it offends to accept such then they should get into a line of work in which they will not have to encounter such.

  13. Anonymous Says:

Quran is the root cause of all evil. Islam is a cult not a religion.

  14. exposingdtruth Says:

The following is going to sound harsh, but I don’t really care.

Firstly, the person known as Anonymous should correct that name to Islam is Anonymous to me, for truly, he or she is a Kafir who as no clue what Islam is all about. For how the heck did he or she work out Islam is a cult, and how on Allah green earth, did they get the conclusion that Islam is the root of all evil, when you look at the so called develop countries, you see most people worshipping money, I mean the west is all about money hence, why prostitution is legal and gambling is all ok. Frankly, they don’t care about you people, hence having affair is ok, even if the person get pregnant the male person doesn’t need to married nor support her. Further more evident, the people who commit crime like murder or rape or crimes on that level, they get put in prison, where they can eat, sleep and do other stuff with not their money but ours. The list frankly goes on. If you look in the past, you see that people created pain and suffering, not Islam. Think about Hitler, think about usa`s atomic bomb that was drop upon that poor country, and the affect of it is still going on, children are being born deformed. Truly, you Kafir, think a like, what i mean here is that u guys are stupid, you don’t think of others, you think of your own, hence why the law of the west is all within the wall of me, me, me and not of others. However, there is some good action that should be praised, but in the listed of good deeds and evil deeds, the evil ones outweigh the good ones.

Secondly, the person known as free, should know that if God reveals the book, or any part of him to everyone, then surly the isn’t any point in believing in God and in the unseen, truly the whole test is to see if you believe or not in the unseen, given that you have all this evident in the world. This also is the same answer to an angel revealing the book of God.

God reveals himself or His angel or any part of the unseen to whomever he will, you can’t demand it you can only be blessed with it. Further more, the is only one revelation that is the truth and that is the holy Quran, no one as ever proved that the Quran is false, but the Quran as proved to be beyond the works of man. In addition to this, I will like to state that man is not in the position to control the whole universe let alone his own organs, but he thinks he can.

  16. A Muslim Says:

For allt hose who hate Muslims and Islam… Firstly, I would like to ask you’ll this? how much do you know about Islam? U make ur judgments based on what people say or what u hear on the news but have you for a second stopped and found out for yourself what Islam is all about? It is the perfect way of life! You Christians and Jews treat each your women like they’re some play objects, in Islam, Women are treated with utmost respect and dignity! We have our rights and we have our way of life. So before u throw insults at us, why don’t u take a second and look at your religions first and see if they preach the correct things in life. ‘Coz for all I know, your Priests & Rabbi’s are screwing 8 year old boys after giving a sermon!!! When people that Holy are doing shit like that, how must the rest pf you perverts be???!!!
